Hilton's Kiddie Queen and King contest begins
In conjunction with their 2003 Firemen's Carnival July 23-26, the Hilton Fire Department is sponsoring the annual contest to select a Kiddie King and Queen. Any boy or girl, ages 6-10, residing in the Hilton Parma Fire District (area served by Hilton Fire Department) is eligible.
Enter by submitting a photograph to the Parma Public Library at 156 West Avenue in Hilton, with the child's name, address, phone number and age on the back of the photo. (Photos can be no larger than 5 x 7.) All photographs become property of the Hilton Fire Department and cannot be returned. Deadline is July 7 at 5 p.m.
Selection will be made by judges from outside the Hilton area. Children selected will be notified by phone July 11.
The Kiddie King and Queen will each have a photo-shoot at the Hilton Fire Department on Thursday, July 17. The winners will also receive a crown, trophy, car sign, free ride ticket for Wednesday night, and two free passes for the rides all afternoon on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
Winners will ride in/on a red Corvette as Grand Marshalls of the Kiddie Parade on Wednesday, July 23, and ride in the Firemen's Grand Parade Thursday, July 24. The Kiddie King and Queen and their families will also be guests of the Hilton Fire Department at a special carnival event on Friday.
