Rangers hand out postseason sports awards

The Spencerport Rangers officially recognized 90 student athletes with the presentation of the year-end Athletic Awards for 2002-03 at their awards dinner June 11.

Track & Field and Cross Country star Nate Lowe was presented with the Duane Tucker Award for Outstanding Academic Male Athlete and was a co-winner with swimmer Zachary Grobengeiser of the Harold E. "Chick" Schum Award for Outstanding Male Athlete.

Nicole Garwol, who played girls basketball, was given the SSBC Award for Outstanding Academic Female Athlete. Megan Reising was the Joan P. Selander Award winner for Outstanding Female Athlete. Lisa Eberhart received the "Coach Chow" Memorial Award for her efforts on the basketball court this season and Patricia Johnson was given the Vernooy Award for a Track athlete's overall contribution to the sport. John Tabbitas received the VC/PRIDE "S" Award.

The Rob Stultz Memorial Awards, given to the student who best exemplifies team play, effort, attendance and sportsmanship, went to Jonathan Hogue from boys swimming and Marissa Neri, who played soccer, volleyball and softball.
