ALBION

•Fredrick, Duane G., 70, died July 19, 2003 at the Medina Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Survived by his loving wife, Norma (Schepler) Fredrick of Albion; three sons, Dale Fredrick of Albion, Tracy Fredrick of Louisiana and Spencer Fredrick of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Christopher Fredrick of Gasport, and Brandi Fredrick of Texas.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion. Memorials can be made in his name to Hospice of Orleans County, 14080 West Avenue, Albion, NY 14411.


BERGEN

Culver, Earl N., July 21, 2003 at age 76. Husband of the late Lydia; father of David (Stacy), Deborah, Dawn (Terry) Speed and Daniel (Cindy); brother of June (Al) Bartlett, Jean Culver and Joanne Gross; grandfather of Bridget, David, James, Nichole, Nicholas and Taylor; great-grandfather of Cynthia, Christopher and Lydia; brother of the late Paul and Fred.

Funeral Services were held July 25 at the H.E. Turner Funeral Home, Bergen. Burial, Riga Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Bergen Fire Department.


BROCKPORT

•Chugg, Harold F., died July 20, 2003 after a short illness. He was a dairy farmer for over 35 years, owning his own farm in Clarendon called Echi Hills Farms, a Master of the Clarendon Grange and a member of the Orleans County Extension Service. During these years, he originated the first 4-H Countywide horse club. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Betty Carol in March. He is survived by his children David (Sheila) Chugg of Caledonia and Linda (John) Tabbitas of Brockport; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held July 24 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment in Hillside Cemetery with military honors. Memorials can be made to the charity of one's choice.


•Whipple, Mary E., on July 21, 2003 at the age of 88. She is survived by her three children, Beverly W. Bernstein, Gerald (Joan) and Ken (Rhonda); five granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary was well known for her love of crocheting and knitting, which she shared with all her family and friends.

Funeral Service and Interment were private. Dona-tions can be made to the Clarendon Fire Department in her memory.


CHURCHVILLE

•Gowan, Richard A., of Hendersonville, North Carolina, July 9, 2003, at the Veterans Medical Center, Asheville, after a short illness. Born June 3, 1952, in Olean, NY, he was the youngest of eleven children born to Junior H. and Loretta E. Gowan. Gowan served with the U.S. Army intelligence from 1972 to 1992, and then worked for that agency as a civilian until 1996. Gowan was a former resident of Olean, Williamson and Churchville, before moving to Hendersonville, North Carolina two years ago. Among those surviving him is William (Marian) Gowan, formerly of Churchville.

Burial was July 14, 2003, in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, New York. Memorials can be made to St. Vincent's Church, 11 North Main Street, Churchville, NY 14428.


HAMLIN

Rath, Dorothy S. (Schildt), July 16, 2003 at the age of 89. She is survived by her beloved husband, William of 66 years; her children, Paul (Sandra), Charles (Nancy), David (Louise) and Anne (Thomas) Elphick; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Josephine Seaman; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held July 19 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hamlin. Private interment. Donations can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 1107 Lake Road, Hamlin in her memory.

•Crawford, Christopher R., July 19, 2003, age 20. Survived by his father, Peter; mother, Kathleen; stepfather, Steven Haupt; brother, Ryan; paternal grandparents, Robert (Barbara) Crawford; maternal grandparents, Clifton (Anne) Couse; paternal aunts and uncles, Jerry (Debra) Crump, Steven (Val) Crawford, David (Lesley) Crawford, Brian Crawford, Jessica Crawford, Jennifer Crawford; maternal aunts and uncles, Stephen (Joyce) Couse, Theresa Brodeur, Daniel (Colleen) Couse, Clifton Jr. (Diane) Couse, Thomas (Allison) Couse, John (Diane) Couse, Kevin Couse; many loving cousins and friends.

•Voigt, Mary Lou, July 20, 2003. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, William "Red" Voigt; her daughter, Christine Voigt; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Janet Voigt; her grandson and her pride and joy, Jeremy Voigt; two brothers, Gerald (Ginger) and Richard (Pat) Plumb; her sister, Sharon (John) D'Amelio; her mother-in-law, Charotte Voigt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim, Ted (Deb) Voigt, Linda (Gene) White; 15 nieces and nephews; many cousins and devoted friends.

•Leibeck, Francis J., July 17, 2003 at age 83. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen DuBois. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice (Heslor) Leibeck; his son, Gerald (Della) Leibeck; his daughters, Judy Tabone and Pat Leibeck; three granddaughters, Michelle (Christopher) Gerould, Melissa Letizia and Jennifer (Richard) Wallace; five great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gilbert (Dorothea) DuBois; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said July 19 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Churchville. Contributions can be made to the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.


•Pray, Benjamin L., July 20, 2003 age 74.
