Cambridge Road in Hilton welcomed radio station WBEE into their neighborhood for one of the station sponsored block parties. Over 100 Cambridge Road residents and friends gathered on the evening of July 16 at the homes of Duffy, Fowler and Gorman to enjoy a completely catered party, including the bounce house for the children, all the necessary party amenities, and food from The Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.

Cambridge Road was chosen for this promotion from an essay written by Linda Fowler, along with an application bearing ten signatures. Linda's son, Andy, a sixth grade student at Village Elementary, was responsible for collecting the signatures. This was Cambridge Road's second attempt at a WBEE party, as last summer The Women's Auxiliary, a social group in the neighborhood, submitted an application for a block party.

Following dinner, the party received a special visit from Otto, the Syracuse Orangemen Mascot. Otto played with the children, posed for photo opportunities and gave all in attendance Syracuse posters and schedules for their upcoming 2003 football campaign.

As the evening wrapped up, about a dozen members from The Men's Room, the neighborhood volunteer organization, founded by President Ray Burlingame and in existence for 15 years, got together to honor members not in attendance, and coordinate their upcoming community projects.
