Garlic Festival set in Batavia

Pontillo's Pizzeria Restaurant, 500 East Main Street (Route 5) in Batavia hosts the 2003 Western New York Garlic Harvest Festival on Saturday, August 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A number of garlic flavored dishes will be offered by Pontillo's. Cooking demonstrations are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Garlic growing tips from experts are planned for noon and 2 p.m.

Garlic growers will offer seed garlic, braids, tied bundles and gift items for sale and free information about growing, harvesting and preserving garlic.

Herbly Wonderful will offer fresh herbs and flowers and Fox Run Vineyards in Penn Yan will offer wine tastings and sales.
