End of summer events at Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park will be hosting the 14th annual Stone Tool Craftsman Show on August 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Highbanks Recreation Area near the Mt. Morris entrance to the park.

Flintknapping demonstrations are featured along with displays and sales of handmade tools and crafts. Other activities include the Eastern Seaboard Atl-Atl Competition and a Mountain Men/Civil War Era encampment with re-enactors, traders and blackpowder firearm demonstrations.

Letchworth State Park will also be presenting the Summer Farewell Festival on Sunday, August 31 at the Highbanks Recreation Area from 1 to 9 p.m.

Featured musical performers are Nik and the Nice Guys, Reporter and Simplelife. Other activities include the juggling and comedy of InJest, pony rides, a petting zoo, chicken BBQ and a fireworks display.

Admission to the events noted here is included in the usual $6 vehicle use fee.
