Hilton Board of Education
seeks applicants to fill vacated board position
At its August 12 meeting, the seven-member Hilton Board of Education decided on a process to fill the remainder of the term vacated by member Dale Beehler who resigned July 1 due to personal reasons.
The board decided to follow an appointment process resulting in a new member serving from September 23 to May 18, 2004.
Interested persons who are residents of the Hilton Central School District continuously for a at least one year; are U.S. citizens; and not a current Hilton School District employee are eligible to apply. The board has set a September 19 deadline for applications.
Applicants should submit a letter of intent and resume to Patricia Unterborn, District Clerk, 225 West Avenue, Hilton, NY 14468 by the deadline. Interviews of prospective members will be held at the Board of Education meeting Tuesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. in open session. Each applicant will be asked to answer six prepared questions regarding their interest in serving on the board and commitment to education.
