Kendall names new
high school principal
The Kendall Central School District has hired Ty Zinkiewich as principal at Kendall Jr./Sr. High School. Zinkiewich, 32, most recently served as assistant principal at Greece Odyssey Middle/High School for grades 6-12. In Kendall, he will oversee grades 7-12.
A native of Canada, Zinkiewich earned his bachelor's degree from McMaster University, then went on to earn his teaching certificate from St. Bonaventure University, where he met his wife Katie, a physical education teacher at Brockport High School. Zinkiewich also has a master's degree from SUNY Brockport and an administrative degree from Canisus College in Buffalo.
Zinkiewich has been with the Greece Central School District for the past eight years. He taught both science and social studies at the middle and commencement levels before serving as assistant principal for four years. Selected from a pool of 61 candidates, Zinkiewich said he believes his experiences in Greece will be a strong foundation for his new leadership position in Kendall. "I was exposed to exceptional systems and incredible teaching, and feel that these experiences will serve me well in my new role as principal here in Kendall," he said.
Zinkiewich, who also plays professional rugby with the Rochester Aardvarks, lives in Brockport with his wife and their daughters, Taylor, age 7 and Olyvia, age 3.
The Kendall School District expects to hire a new assistant principal soon to replace Keith Palmer, who left to take a job as principal in the Pembroke Central School District.
