Hilton Lady Wildcats win in Buffalo

The Hilton Lady Wildcats Northeast Regional AAU Basketball team wrapped up a successful summer season with a tournament victory at the University of Buffalo High School Team Tournament. Amy Pratt and Marisa Clark led the team in scoring throughout the tournament as the Lady Wildcats went undefeated (5-0). Victories included wins over Albion, Toronto, Southwestern (Olean), Lockport and a championship victory over Springville 47-42.

The Lady Wildcats were comprised of Marisa Clark, Amy Pratt, Emily Welch, Jessie Doran, Kassie Best, Val Mikels, Jenny Gardner, Danielle Marble, Tammy Mascoletti, Lisa Bush, Aubrey Fox and Heather Haight. The team was coached by Jeff Eichas, Mike Clark, Mike Mayer and Tom Mooney. Team managers Ted Welch and Sharon Marble were instrumental in the scheduling and logistics for the team. The team played in regional AAU tournaments in Ithaca, Lockhaven, Erie, Penn State and Buffalo while also participating in a summer league in Churchville.

The mission of the AAU Team is to promote team play and develop team chemistry for the upcoming 2003-04 girls basketball season, while getting exposure to area college coaches for players looking to play at the next level. Some 200 college coaches (mostly Division 1) were at the Penn State tournament.

The Hilton High School Lady Cadet will be defending their 2003 Section V Class A Championship.
