Scavenger Hunt leads to Brockport's treasures
The Walkable Communities Committee will launch its first annual Tour de Brockport on Saturday, September 13. The event is spearheaded by Marilyn Colby, Christine Green, Margay Blackman and Diane LaMonica.
Organizers hope the tour will offer the opportunity for participants to familiarize themselves with the goods and services available in the village and at SUNY Brockport.
The Tour de Brockport is a scavenger hunt that will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., with refreshments and a raffle to follow in Sagawa Park. A drawing will award prizes from the clue sheets completed by participants.
College students and local citizens may begin the tour at the college mall (flagpole area) or Sagawa Park. There they will pick up the clue sheet and proceed to visit stores and college sites in search of answers. An example of a clue is, "What bagel sandwich costs $1.75?" The clue sheet lists names of stores to check out. There are at least 10 stores plus Seymour College Union to visit.
