MCC faculty recognized for teaching excellence
The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) recognized eight Monroe Community College (MCC) faculty members for teaching excellence during the past year.
Among the eight was Marsha Bower of Hilton, associate professor, dental studies, who also works as the department's sophomore clinical coordinator. "The dental studies faculty at MCC are motivated and willing to adopt cutting edge theories, this helps keep us a step ahead of other programs; all in the best interest of our students," says Bower. Her work with online and Web-enhanced courses has received recognition from NISOD and other faculty members.
Created in 1978 with initial grants from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education, NISOD is a non-profit, tax-exempt consortium of colleges and universities who share a philosophical commitment to support excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership. Its offices are based at the University of Texas at Austin.
