Winners of the Viewers Choice Awards at the UMC of North Chili Quilt Show, held September 12 and 13 were Vie Doe of Webster for her quilt "Flower Portraits," No. 47; and Judith Laurini of Churchville for her wall hanging, "Cats in the Garden," #44. Both winning quilts were hand appliqued, Laurini was the show's featured quilter, with several inspiring quilt works on display. Area visitors to the show and the Saturday Quilters of UMC of North Chili donated over 200 baby quilts for area at-risk children which completely covered every pew in the church sanctuary. Visitors also donated a cupboard full of food to the Spencerport Ecumenical Food Shelf. Part of the entrance donation is also used to support Grace Urban Ministries.
