Eagles netters drop heartbreaker
Leading two games to one in a best-of-five girl's volleyball match, the Kendall Eagles dropped the next two games to Lyndonville and were still looking for their first win of the season.
"We're still looking for a setter," said head coach Timothy Resch after the game. "That has hurt us and it did again tonight, but we're getting closer."
After dropping the first game 25-19 on an 8-2 Tiger run to finish, the Eagles stormed back to win games two and three. Nicole MacKensie served a pair of aces in the 25-17 win in game two. Game three was tied at 18 and Lyndonville gave away four consecutive points on errors, Jessica Arno served an ace and Ashley Riviere added a kill as Kendall scored the last seven points to take a 2-1 lead.
But the Tigers took a close game four 25-21 and ended the Eagles hopes with a 25-14 victory in the fifth and deciding game.
Stacey Rodas led Kendall with four kills and seven digs, Christine Halter led with eight aces and four blocks to go with three kills and Aro added six aces.
