Ogden Police has gun safety kits available
The Ogden Police Department is participating in Project ChildSafe.
Project ChildSafe (PCS) was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. This is a nationwide program that helps ensure safety and responsible firearms ownership and storage. The main goal of this project is to inform and educate all firearms owners on key safety issues and to provide free firearms safety kits that include a gun locking device.
These safety kits and gunlocks are available for Town of Ogden and Village of Spencerport residents at the Ogden Police Department, 269 Ogden Center Road, Spencerport between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Two kits will be distributed per family. Anyone who owns more than two or three firearms should consider purchasing a gun safe or cabinet, according to Ogden Police representatives.
