Pampered Chef "Round-up from the Heart" campaign benefits local hunger relief organizations year round
Pat Rebar of Hilton, an Independent Sales Director for Pampered Chef, visited FOODLINK to explain how the company she works for helps fight hunger in the area. Donors, staff members, and volunteers from some of the 550 different human services agencies that receive food through FOODLINK came for an afternoon demonstration, to thank Pampered Chef for all the organization has done to fight hunger and to learn more about the current "Round-Up from the Heart" Campaign. They also had the opportunity to check out the latest Pampered Chef products and sample a healthy snack.
Pampered Chef recently announced that it will extend its "Round-Up from the Heart" charitable giving campaign from a six-month program to a year-long campaign. From August 1, 2003 to July 31, 2004, customers can contribute to hunger relief by rounding up their purchase totals at in-home cooking demonstrations to the nearest dollar or more. Last year, Pampered Chef customers in the area raised almost $5,000 for local hunger relief. The money was donated to FOODLINK, the food bank in the Genesee Valley/Finger Lakes Region, which distributes over six million pounds of food to human services agencies, food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, each year.
