Maziarz to speak at the
Working with Rural Elderly Conference
New York State Senator George Maziarz will be presenting a "State Update" at the "Working with Rural Elderly Conference" being held for Western New York aging services agencies. Coordinated Care, Community Concern, and AARP are proud to present the 5th Annual Working with Rural Elderly Conference, "Caring for the Caregiver." It is intended for human service agencies that provide service to the elderly in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Erie, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
The conference will be held on Thursday, October 16 at Romanello's South Restaurant, 5793 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All human service agencies are welcome to attend. Seating is limited, so register early.
This unique event inclues a keynote address by Dr. William Hall, M.D., Director of the Center for Healthy Aging, Rochester School of Medicine, speaking on "Helping the Helper - Medical Problems of Caregiving." Other presentations include Scott Melton, AARP, addressing "The Future of Caregiving on Public Policy and Federal Policy Implications," Richard Stringham, Onondaga County Department of Aging, addressing the NCOA "Benefits Check-Up." Panel discussions will incluude "Mental Health Issues of Caregiving" and "Workplace Issues of Caregivers."
