Hill students attend Arachnids workshop
Dr. Peter Veronesi, assistant professor of elementary science education at SUNY Brockport, helps fifth-grader Jacob Robinson search through burdocks for spiders during an enrichment workshop about Arachnids on September 23. Thirty fifth-graders at Brockport's Hill Elementary School attended the two-hour workshop through the BOCES 2 Gifted and Talented Program. Students explored the biology, behavior, special adaptations, and roles that 34,000 species of spiders play in our world's ecosystem. The students inspected several types of spiders and learned about how they get their food and how they differ from their fellow arthropods.
