It's Girl Scout cookie time

Throughout Monroe, Livingston, Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties, girls will be knocking on doors selling Girl Scout cookies October 11 through October 26. All the favorite Girl Scout cookies are back including Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel DeLites, Animal Treasures, Shortbread, Lemon Pastry Cremes, Peanut Butter Sandwich. This year, a new cookie called Pinatas will be available. The Pinata is an oatmeal based cookie with real strawberry filling, a crumbly topping and a drizzle of vanilla icing.

Purchase of Girl Scout cookies help girls build character and skills for success in the real world. "Every year during the Girl Scout cookie program activities, our girls practice what it takes to be successful in business," says Ann Sartwell, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley. "You see the wheels turning as they figure out new and innovative ways to reach the goals they set and take pride and ownership in their plans."
