Brockport netters sweep Rangers
The match was much closer than it appears as five of the seven went the full three sets, but the Blue Devils completed a 7-0 sweep over Spencerport in girl's tennis.
Jennie Trenton and Katherine Ludington were one of only two two-set matches as they won for the Blue Devils at second singles 6-3, 6-3. First singles Cassie Webster was the other two-set match winning 6-1, 6-1.
At second singles, Spencerport's Megan Hannigan won the first game 6-2 before Kara Hage came from behind 6-0, 6-1 to take the set. Lauren Fery won her third singles set, but not before the Rangers' Liz Padetti won the second game 6-4.
The closest match of the day came at fourth singles as Erin Doe won a 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 match over Spencerport's Moe Peer.
In doubles, Caitlin Myers and Kim Eichas went to a tiebreaker in their third set before finally defeating Sarah Berner and Lauren Parkhurst 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 at first doubles. Spencerport's Heather Dorofy and Stephanie Wahba won the first set of their third doubles match 6-2 before Alison Duff and Marissa Rivera took the second and third sets 6-3, 6-2.
Brockport improved to 6-4 overall, 3-2 league while Spencerport fell to 6-5, 4-3.
