RWC Women's soccer shuts out conference foe

The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team shut out conference rival Notre Dame Colleges 4-0 in women's soccer action on Saturday, September 27. The Lady Raiders were led by Stacey Patterson (Northstar Christian Academy) from Spencerport.

Roberts opened the scoring on a brilliant individual effort from Patterson in the 30th minute. Patterson received a pass 30 yards out from the goal, dribbled to her right, beating two players and hit a shot that went in the upper left hand corner of the goal. The half ended 1-0 in favor of Roberts.

The Lady Raiders picked right up where they left off, scoring less than one minute into the second half off a goal by Junior Katie Keville (Chittenango, NY). Sophomore Stephanie Gardiner (Liverpool, NY) added a third at 60 minute mark off of an assist by freshman Aimee Legault (Pointe-Claire, PQ, Canada). Patterson scored her second at the 79 minute mark off of an assist by freshman Ashley Driscoll (Angola, NY).

The win improves Roberts record to 3-5-1, 1-2-0 on the season. They were in action again as hosts to Tiffin College on October 4 at the Roberts homecoming.
