Steuer scores two for Cadets

Heather Steuer scored a goal in each half as the Hilton Cadets ran past Brockport 5-2 in high school girl's soccer.

Hilton took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute as Kassandra Best shot a one hopper past the Brockport goalkeeper. The Blue Devils tied the game nine minutes later when Lindsay Roberts moved around the defense and used her left foot in putting in into the net.

Just three minutes later, in the 24th minute, the Cadets took the lead for good as Marina Accordo fed Steuer in the box and she shot just inside the far post making it 2-1 Hilton. They would add another before the half when Elizabeth Dauksha found fellow senior Marisa Clark with a perfect corner kick. Clark headed it in for a 3-1 lead.

Steuer got her second of the game when she chipped the ball past the keeper in the 50th minute, but Brockport closed to within two as Anna Dupre headed in a direct kick from the right corner of the box by Ashley Williams.

The Cadets closed out the scoring with a goal in the 75th minute. This time it was Angela Picardo putting a perfect corner kick into the box where Jessica Frisbee headed it in.

Hilton improved their record to 7-3 while Brockport fell to 3-4-1.
