Brockport Symphony Orchestra begins its new season

Conductor Ryan Brown begins his second year with the Brockport Symphony Orchestra with a Halloween Concert on Sunday, October 26, 2003 at 4 p.m., to be held at the Presbyterian Church on State Street in Brockport. The delightfully ghoulish program includes selections from Handel's Water Music, Telemann's Concerto for Oboe d'amore and Strings, featuring Al Werner on the oboe, Mozart's Symphony 25 in G-Minor, Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette, and selections from Greig's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.

General admission is $5, seniors and students $4 and children under 12 enter free of charge.

Before receiving a Masters of Arts in Choral conducting from the Eastman School of Music, Brown graduated with honors from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, receiving both a bachelor of arts in Orchestral Conducting and a bachelor of science in Mathematics. In addition to directing the Brockport Symphony Orchestra, Brown currently also serves as the Director of Houghton College's Chapel Choir and Women's Choir, Music Director of the Cathedral Choir School of Rochester's Performance Choir and Training Choir, and Director of the Christ View United Methodist Church's Children's Choir and Handbell Choir. Brown has also conducted for the All American Boys Chorus, the Eastman Repertory Singers and the LMU Chamber Orchestra.
