"Common Sense Parenting" course
to be taught at Hilton Community Center
Hilton Central School District, in cooperation with Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES, offers a six-week parenting course, "Common Sense Parenting," beginning October 20 at the Hilton Community Center, 59 Henry Street, Hilton. School Social Worker and Parenting Trainer Maria Tantillo-Mueller, CSW, is the course facilitator.
The six-week course uses discussion, exercises and video to address such topics as strengthening positive behavior; teaching children self-control; giving clear messages; preventing and correcting problem behavior; handling emotionally intense situations; enriching your relationship with your children.
Based on the national program developed by Girls and Boys Town National Resource and Training Center, Common Sense Parenting has been rated 'Outstanding' by The Parent Council and was the winner of The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval.
Parents are encouraged to register for either the school-age program or the preschool program. Pre-registration is required. Call Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES at 349-8880.
