•Sime, Louise P., September 23, 2003 at age 83, in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband George W. Sime. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Gary) Everdyke, David (Kathy) Sime and Tom (Leslie) Sime; her grandchildren, Tom Ward, Melanie (Jason) Wilson, Katie and Jennifer Sime, Joshua and Jonathan Sime; two great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jacob Wilson; extended family and many dear friends. She was a retiree of Sears.

•Byrne, John (Brynsie) (Uncle), Suddenly on October 8, 2003. Predeceased by his father, Frederick and his brother, Tim. Survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Perkins); his adorable daughter, Madison; his mother, Mary K. Bryne; his mother and father-in-law, Bill and Genny Perkins; his brother, Robert (Sharon); his sisters, Susan (Todd) Fowler, Patty (Dave) Streb, Meg Burdick, Beth Hannon; his nieces and nephews, Lisa, John and Laura Fowler, Mike (Nicki), Andy (Heather), Katie, Jason Streb, Kelly and Kaitlin and Molly Hannon; his brother-in-law, Brad (Sandy) Perkins; his aunt, Evelyn Boecker and Virginia Belisle; cousins, Corrine (David) Medden, Shannon, Sean and Killian. Loved by his many friends.

Funeral Services were held October 13 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Madison Byrne Scholarship Fund in memory of her Daddy, HSBC USA, Brockport, NY 14420.


•Curtis, Mabel E., On October 10, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy. Survived by her sons, Dean (Judith), Russell (Gail), Dennis (Pat), Scott (Chris); 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held October 14 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.


•Lane, Richard A., On October 8, 2003 at the age of 62. He is survived by his sister, Joan (Robert) Hollaran; brother, Harold Lane; children, Shawn and Christopher Lane; several grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held October 10 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Garland Cemetery.


•Slater, Harry Frank, On October 5, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; his daughters, Sharon Moore of Austin, Texas, Jill Slater of Hamlin, Joy (Don) Gearing of Sterling, Virginia, Martha (Terry) Fischer of Brockport, six grandchildren, Deanne (Jay) Patterson, Michael (Gina) Moore, Lacy Gearing, Kimberly (Brad) Rice, Monica Slater, Stacy (Michael) Vaccaro; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Warren and his sister, Gladys Baun; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life was held October 10 at the First Presbyterian Church, Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Orleans County Hospice Program in his memory.


•Sweeting, Paul D. On October 11, 2003, at the age of 41. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his loving children, Jennifer, Matthew and Kelly; his mother, Helen Sweeting; sister, Tamara (John) McCombs; father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Kathy Schott, sister-in-law, Laurel (Terry) Patterson; brother-in-law, John (Linda) Schott; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were held October 15 at St. Leo's Church, Hilton. Interment, Parma Union Cemetery.


CHURCHVILLE

•Burling, Marvin D., October 9, 2003 at age 85. Survived by his wife of 57 years Clara Burling; his son Larry (Veronica) Burling of Rochester; three grandchildren Heather (Aaron) Bourne, Holly and Michael Burling; great granddaughter Emma Rose Bourne; several nieces and nephews. Marvin was a retiree of Delco Products in Rochester.

Funeral Services were held October 11 at the First Congregational Church of Riga. Interment Riga Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department "Ambulance Fund," 25 East Buffalo Street, Churchville, NY 14428 in his memory.


•Doerr, Toni M., October 12, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jack Doerr; her children Michael (Tracy), Kevin (Georjan), John Jr. (Kimberly) and Noreen (Scott) Goodman; her grandchildren Maris Goodman, Conner, Olivia, Hunter and Brandon Doerr. Toni was a Town of Riga Dog Control Warden for 12 years.

HILTON

•LaDue, Russell J., October 13, 2003, age 83. He is survived by his children, James R. (Valerie), Steven F. (Sharon) LaDue, LuAnn (Bob) Schrader, Michael W. (Sandy) LaDue; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Hermann and Leona (Frank) Martin; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and a Kodak retiree after 40 years of service.

A Graveside Service was held October 17 at Sand Bay Cemetery, Cape Vincent, New York. Contributions can be made to VNS Hospice or Ducks Unlimited in his memory.


•Sage, John (Jack), 67 years old, suddenly on Sunday, October 12, 2003. Predeceased by his mother, Inez Sage. Survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Lynn, John E. (Becky) Sage; his brothers-in-law, Frank Hess, Bill (Spark) Hess, John (Betty) Hess and Leo Hess; grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Carrie, Michelle, Jason; his cousin, Sybil Kelley.

NORTH CHILI

•DeLapp, Robert F., October 14, 2003. Survived by his wife of 39 years, Lois; children, Jennifer and Andrew; siblings, William (Margie) DeLapp, Richard (Lois) DeLapp, LaRita Yerdon, Patricia Kandt, Mary Stevens, Donald (June) DeLapp, Peggy (Bob) Pryor; many nieces and nephews. As a young man Bob was active in the Salvation Army and went on to serve for many years as a Deacon and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. He served in the U.S.A.F., stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was a teacher in the Rochester City School District for 33 years. He was ac-tive in Pearce Memorial Church during the final years of his life.

Funeral Services were held October 17 at Pearce Memorial Church, North Chili. Private interment. Contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation or Pearce Memorial Church, 4322 Buffalo Road, North Chili in his memory.


PARMA

•Smith, Edwin T., October 6, 2003. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Doris R. Smith. He is survived by his sister, Winifred Wiant; his children and their spouses, Neal and Jo Smith of Oregon, Wayne and Diane Smith of Michigan, Gene and Bobbie Smith of Virginia, Kim Greene of North Carolina, Jennifer and George Sieg of Virginia, Lynn and Rick Boyles of Texas; his grandchildren, Patrick and Erica Smith, Emily, Judd and Jacob Smith, Samuel, Steven, Ethan and Hayley Sieg, Angela and Derek Boyles.

He was a graduate of the University of Rochester, retired Naval Officer who served in WWII, retired mechanical engineer at Eastman Kodak, and Justice of the Peace in the Town of Parma.

A Private Memorial Ceremony will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.


SPENCERPORT

•McClellan, Floyd M., October 8, 2003 at age 89. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey and his son David McClellan. He is survived by his children Janice Entz, Linda, Glen and Diane McClellan; his brother Herbert (Irene) McClellan; sisters Ruth McClellan, Hazel Vandertang and Grace (Thomas) Moran; grandchildren; great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

•Wiant, Winnie E., October 9, 2003. She is survived by son, Carl Wiant (Ross Abate) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; daughters, Judith (Mike) Kolmetz of Bergen and Carl Manzek of Bonita Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Celebration of her 95th Birthday will be held November 12 at 11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1549 Dewey Avenue, Rochester. Con-tributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory.
