Community First Sweden Town Candidates meet with local residents
Community First Candidates Gary Skoog, Bob Capo and Jennifer Skoog-Harvey met with Sweden town and Brockport village residents at the West Avenue Fire Hall on October 15. The evening was spent talking about the Community First platform and responding to residents' questions and concerns. Issues raised included access to public water, the Wal-Mart super center proposal, economic development, concerns about town spending increases and open government. Skoog, Capo and Skoog-Harvey stated that as board members they would work to rein in spending, review the municipal water petition process, enhance business development through a shared position between the town and village, implement better communication practices with all residents to increase community involvement and that they oppose a Wal-Mart super center on Route 31.
