B-B Netters sweep Wheatland
Byron-Bergen's girls volleyball team continued their strong 2003 campaign with a 25-9, 25-15, 25-13 sweep over Wheatland-Chili. After winning the first game handily, the Bees had no more than two starters in for the final two games allowing the whole team to contribute.
Raylyn Maher led the team with nine aces with Jessie Sharp, Alyssa D'Errico and Dana DeSario each adding four serving aces.
Kate DiGregorio led the team with five kills while Bobbi Nelson and Katie Welch combined for eleven assists. Sharp added four kills and Katherine McCormick three kills to the offensive attack.
The Bees improved to 11-3 in league play with the victory putting them in a race for second place with Attica behind undefeated Batavia Notre Dame in the Genesee League. With N-D competing in a different class during upcoming sectional play, the Bees are also in a separate race with Avon for the number one seed in Class C for the playoffs.
