Chili leaf pick up program begins

The Town of Chili has begun their leaf collection program for this year. Bulk leaves will be picked up curbside by the Department of Public Works from now through mid-December.

Town crews will not pick up bagged leaves, however, loose leaves may be placed in a waterproof container.

Small leaf piles can be bagged and a resident's trash hauler will take them. Brush, sticks, rocks or stones should not be mixed in with the leaves. Residents may bring their leaves to a transfer area located at the Chili Highway Department's lower parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts at any time.

Leaf piles should not be placed in the road, gutters or drainage ditches for obvious safety reasons and all children should be warned about the dangers of playing in leaf piles by the curb.
