Waas, Chandler set aside Eastridge
Brandon Waas and Jason Chandler combined for 28 kills as Spencerport swept Eastridge 25-16, 25-21 and 25-20, at home in their next-to-last regular season boys volleyball match.
Spencerport struggled to find their rhythm in the first game allowing Eastridge to tie the game at 8-8 before running off a 17-8 spurt including three kills each from Waas and Chandler.
The Rangers held just a two-point advantage in game two at 21-19 before Waas had three of the final four points on kills. Eastridge had game three tied at 13-13 before Chandler served two aces, Jon Baker added a kill and two carries by the visitors ended the match and improved Spencerport's record to 15-3.
Brian Conlon had 20 assists and Ryan Crosby added eight as the Rangers were able to use quite a bit of their bench. Mike Pavone added two kills on quick-sets. Andrew Zguta is out for the season with a fractured radius and ulna near his elbow, which will affect the Rangers as they prepare to head into the sectional playoffs.
