Christmas assistance applications scheduled
Individuals and families in need of Christmas assistance should apply for help at The Salvation Army during the week of November 10. The Salvation Army provides Christmas toys, food and winter clothing as part of Christmas Assistance program.
Applications will be taken on a walk-in basis at The Salvation Army, 100 West Avenue, Rochester from November 10 through November 13. The applications will be taken from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and 1 until 3:30 p.m. Additionally, applications will be taken on November 12 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The following documentation is required for all applicants: photo identification and a Social Security card for the applicant; identification for everyone in the family; proof of income (paycheck stub, unemployment stub, AFDC or Medicaid card or a Division of Social Services budget sheet); proof of address.
The Christmas assistance will be distributed in December.
Anyone in the Hamlin area who is in need of assistance for Christmas gifts for children ages 0-17 years in urged to contact the Hamlin Bread and Thread. Please call the Life Solutions of Hamlin office at 964-7420 by November 14 to make arrangements.
