Library holds 3rd annual Gingerbread House Contest

Entries in the Ogden Farmers' Library 2003 Gingerbread House Contest must be delivered to the library at 269 Ogden Center Road by 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. The houses will be on display through Friday, December 19. Judging will take place on Saturday, December 20 at noon, with winners announced at 1 p.m. that day.

Prizes, provided by the Friends of the Ogden Farmers' Library; are: Judges Choice - $100, People's Choice - $50, Honorable Mentions - 2 at $25 each. These prizes will be awarded in cash on December 20. All participants will receive an achievement certificate, and special prizes will be awarded to individual children who enter a house.

The rules for the contest are:

• Employees and trustees of the Ogden Farmers' Library may not participate.
• Entries must be delivered to the library on or before 4 p.m. Saturday, December 6.
• Houses must be made of an edible material (i.e. no cardboard or other non-food building material).
• Entries must be left on display in the library until Saturday, December 20. Houses may be picked up after 1 p.m. on that day.
• Houses will not be identified with the name or identity of the baker while on display or before judging.

Although the library staff will take care to keep the houses safe, the library will not be held responsible for any damage caused to the houses while on display. The library reserves the right to use any photographs of the houses for publicity purposes.
