Hilton Athletes for Literacy reach out to Elementary Schools

Student athletes including Field Hockey member Jill Bower, form Hilton High School, visited students at Northwood Elementary School this fall as part of the Hilton Cadets "Athletes for Literacy" program which serves to expose younger students to youthful role models. More than 35 athletes are involved in the experience which is designed to help students with the message of respect, responsibility and the importance of role modeling. Among the goals of the program is to have student athletes build connections with younger students, according to advisor Kelly Roethel, JV Cheerleading Coach.
