Community members invited to join
Spencerport district budget advisory
Community members are invited to apply to join the Spencerport School District's Budget Advisory Committee. Appointed by the superintendent, the committee will help develop the district's 2004-05 school budget. Superintendent of Schools Phillip W. Langton is looking for eight district residents willing to serve on this committee as members at large.
The advisory committee consists of some 25-plus members representing the entire district community: parents, teachers, school administrators, students and support staff plus the Superintendent of Schools, the assistant superintendents and board members.
This committee reviews the budget developed by the administration and offers additions, deletions and modifications. As part of this task, they also examine district resource priorities according to the district's new Strategic Plan. The board reviews these recommendations when they receive each budget section during the budget development process.
The Budget Advisory Committee will begin meeting in January and is expected to meet in the evening twice a month through March.
Those interested in serving on this committee are asked to call Fred Seiler, Assistant Superintendent for Business, at 349-5111 no later than Tuesday, December 9. A copy of the 2004-2005 budget calendar is available from Seiler, 71 Lyell Avenue, Spencerport, or by calling his office.
