Seniors wish upon a star in ESL's project

Residents of the St. Ann's Community and The Heritage, Arbor Hill Care Center, Westgate Nursing Home, Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, St. John's Nursing Home and senior citizens groups from the Catholic Family Center and Lifespan are wishing upon a star this holiday season: an ESL Federal Credit Union star that is.

Beginning November 18, each branch of ESL has adorned their holiday tree with gold stars. Each star holds a holiday wish made by a local senior citizen. Members of the community are encouraged to stop into any branch, pick a star, and make that wish come true. Gifts requested range from such items as cologne and hand lotion to playing cards and small gift cards. Wrapped gifts should be returned to the branches no later than December 8. In all, more than 1,000 gifts will be returned to ESL for distribution. For each gift returned to the branches, ESL will thank the gift giving "elves" by giving them a special holiday ornament.
