Flag pole dedication Dec. 13 in Spencerport

Spencerport area community members are invited to join elected officials in the dedication of a new flag pole and monument. Ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 13 in front of the Spencerport Village Offices, 27 West Avenue.

“This is an especially important event for the Village of Spencerport,” Village Administrator Al Scheg stated in a press release. “With the raising of the nation’s flag on our new pole, we will take stock of those things that make Spencerport “Someplace Special” -- community effort, team work, dedication and generosity.”

Funding for the flag pole came from $2,000 donated by the 2002 Spencerport Canal Days Committee. Village employees donated their time and talents to construct the monument area. A village employee, Kevin Kelly, will play “God Bless America” on the bagpipes during the dedication. Refreshments will be served.
