Teachers get ready for their debut at McDonalds
It's every student's dream: a chance to order their teachers around. This dream opportunity takes place on Wednesday at McDonalds (Spencerport) where Cosgrove Middle School teachers will be taking orders and serving their students and other customers from 3 to 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for Erika Daugherty, an injured Cosgrove student.
McDonalds, 44 Nichols Street, will donate a portion of the day's sales to a fund for Erika, who is recovering at home after she was struck by a moving vehicle while riding her bicycle on Union Street last August. As part of the fundraiser, Page Appliance is donating a stereo TV to be awarded. 98PXY will bring its Prize Wheel and have a remote broadcast from the restaurant from 4 to 6 p.m.
"The teachers really wanted an opportunity to be part of this community project and let Erika know that we care," said Ilonka Tumelaire, a counselor at the school.
