Flag pole and monument

Under the watchful eye of Spencerport Mayor Ted Walker, village administrator Al Scheg starts the ascent of an American flag on the new flagpole and monument dedicated December 13 next to the Village of Spencerport offices on West Avenue. Scheg was assisted by Adam Tabelski, representing Senator George Maziarz, and the piping of Jim VanBrederode and Code Enforcement Officer Kevin Kelly who played "God Bless America" on the bagpipes. A number of other village representatives and local dignitaries attended the dedication. The 2002 Spencerport Canal Days Committee donated $2,000 towards purchase of the flag pole and village employees donated their time and talents to construct the monument area.
