Barb Deming of Brockport was the winner of two prizes at the Foundation's Annual Gala Dinner - two first class tickets on American Airlines and a $500 gift certificate for Wegmans in Brockport. Don Alhart, Master of Ceremonies, concluded the evening's program with the drawing of three prizes. Deming's name was drawn for the first prize of the airline tickets. Everyone was surprised to hear her name announced again for the second prize of the Wegmans gift certificate. John Kish of Albion won the third prize of a Toronto dinner theater package to see "The Producers." Deming plans to share her winnings with the community. She is involved with both the Brockport Food Shelf and Ecumenical Rural and Migrant Ministry and will be donating food purchased with her Wegmans gift card to those organizations. Deming also plans to take a trip with a close friend whose daughter recently moved to New Orleans. Deming has been trying her luck by supporting Lakeside raffle drawings since 1993, and her persistence certainly paid off. She purchased $10 worth of tickets and her name was chosen out of over 390 raffle ticket stubs. |
