Chili Senior Center Programs
Weight Watchers - The Chili Senior Center is looking into hosting a Weight Watchers program on Friday mornings from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. beginning in January. A minimum of 15 people is needed to run the 16 week program. $159. There is a discount for Preferred Care members. The program is open to all adults. Call 889-6185.
Harlem Globetrotters - see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, February 8. The bus leaves the Senior Center parking lot at 1 p.m. (show starts at 2 p.m.) and returns following the show. The cost is $20 and is limited to 45 people (must be 55+). Tuesday Talks - educational and interesting presentations each Tuesday at 11 a.m. A guest speaker will be featured each week. Coffee provided. There is no charge to participate. The center is located at 3235 Chili Avenue.

Massage - a licensed massage therapist will do massages once a month. Appointments are being accepted for Thursday morning January 22. Appointments are either 15 or 30 minutes in length. First 15 minute intro appointment is $10; 15 minute appointment is $15, and a 30 minute appointment is $25. Gift certificates are available. To schedule an appointment, call 889-6185.
Rochester History Series - five-part slide series on the history of Rochester. The series is led by Warren Kling, a local historian and writer. Register for individual sessions or the entire series. Session 1: Pioneer History & Erie Canal - Thursday, January 15, 10 a.m.; Session 2: Inventors & Entrepreneurs - Thursday, February 19, 10 a.m.; Session 3: Notable Men & Women - Thursday, March 25, 10 a.m.; Session 4: Mansions & Millionaires - Thursday, April 22, 10 a.m.; Session 5: Rochesterians Who Entertained the World - Thursday, May 20, 10 a.m. The cost is $2 per session or $10 for the entire series. Lunch Club 60 - The Chili Senior Center offers a hot, nutritious lunch every Monday and Thursday at noon. Seniors age 60 and older and their spouse of any age are eligible for lunch. Suggested contribution is $2 ($4 required for those under 60). Reservations required. Call 889-6185.
Intro to Computers - class offered on Tuesdays, January 6, 13, 20, 27 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Basic class covers computer fundamentals and word processing and is limited to 4. Each participant will have access to their own computer during the class. The cost is $10. For information, call 889-6185.
Simply Lite Jazzercise - Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. January 7 - February 11 (six weeks). This program is a combination of aerobics and exercises designed to improve strength, balance and flexibility using easy-to-follow movements. Participants should bring water bottle and hand weights. Yoga - Thursdays, January 15 - February 19 from 2 to 3:15 p.m. A gentle, non-competitive approach to stretching and relaxation using breathing to ease into basic yoga poses suitable for your body. Participants should wear loose clothing and bring a beach towel, mat or small blanket. The cost is $20. Call 889-6185 for registration information.
Oil Painting - Mondays, January 12 - March 1 (no class 1/19, 2/16) from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 plus supplies (six weeks). Supplies may be purchased from instructor. Participants must provide a smock or old shirt, small towel, small glass jar for turpentine and a photo (or photo quality picture) of an item or scene to paint.
