SUNY Brockport sponsors workshop
for children to create Japanese art
The State University of New York is sponsoring a free workshop for local children age six to eleven. Artists from the SUNY Brockport community will take children on a Japanese adventure, where they will experience Japanese art, music, dance, drama and more. "Kids love making art, and the process offers children an opportunity to experience the traditions of another culture. They have fun, learn about others, and are proud of themselves for creating something unique," states Denise Purvis, program coordinator.
The workshop will take place from noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, in SUNY Brockport's Hartwell Hall. Although the program is free, pre-registration is required. Call Purvis at 395-5087 to register.
