Ecumenical Prayer Service celebrates
week of prayer for Christian unity

Seven congregations, representing different Christian denominations, will come together for an Ecumenical Celebration of the Word of God on Sunday, January 18. The service, which will be held as part of the area's observance of the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, will take place at Parma-Greece United Church of Christ, 1211 Manitou Road, at the intersection of Latta and Manitou Roads, beginning at 4 p.m.

Begun in 1908, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated each year in cities and towns across the country and around the world. The theme and text for each year's observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity are chosen and prepared by representatives of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and representatives of the World Council of Churches. The international texts are developed, adapted and published for use in the USA by the Graymoor Ecumencial and Interreligious Institute, which invites written contributions from members of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA and other ecumenists.

All members of the community are warmly invited to attend this time of celebration.

This service is sponsored by the Hilton Clergy group. Contact Pastor Gary Ferner, 392-6120, with questions.
