Hilton High School Art Portfolio Night January 14

Hilton High School senior art students are sharing their work with parents, friends and the community.

"Please join the Portfolio Class of 2003-04 in celebrating their accomplishments in art," Hilton High School Art Program Coordinator Jan Dentino says. "Our format will include an exhibit of the most recent works of the senior art students. These works are the first installments in a body of work based on an individual thesis proposal developed at the beginning of the school year. Each student's entire portfolio will be available for viewing electronically as well. These collective portfolios contain work from the first four years of classes. Many of these students are planning to pursue art at the college level and will use their portfolio work to gain admission to art programs or to receive scholarships. We also have two students who are working toward a Visual Arts Certificate in the International Baccalaureate Program."

The event will be held Wednesday, January 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Art Room #117, Hilton High School (ground floor), 400 East Avenue, Hilton. The seniors whose work will be on display are: Katy Allen, surrealism; Angela Bell, non-objective compositions; Debbie Breslawski, Japanese, Russian and French art; Amanda Clark, a history of dragons; Karlie Donlon, beauty in the human form; Amanda Gawron, achieving mood through color; Karen Howard, illustrations for original story; John Marron, realism; Jason Ramble, variety of media and subjects; Jackie Ronco, culture and surrealism; Nicole Rowley, creating environments; Jay Schmeer, fantasy; Kyle Skoney, good vs. evil.
