Northwood students donate art supplies

Among the art students in teacher Laurie Steele's classes at Hilton's Northwood Elementary School are sixth graders, from left, Kristen Drennon, Heather Allen, Elif Evyapan, and Tori Schmidt who have been thinking about others this holiday season. "We have about 90 students who are involved in Art Club," Steele said. "We raised $200 from the sale of ornaments we created. We then donated $100 each to Sojourner House and the Lewis Street Center for children's art supplies." Students and Steele delivered the supplies to the Center and the House. Northwood Elementary School Art Club has about 90 members who meet to accomplish various artistic endeavors including recently painting the school's windows with winter scenes.
