Committee forming to study
Hamlin Community Center options
Hamlin residents are now meeting to explore the construction of a community center. Representing diverse groups and organizations, the committee visualizes a social, recreational, and intellectual gathering place for everyone in the town, which currently has neither a school nor a community center of its own, contacts Diane Hennekey and Monica Seeley stated in a press release. The committee considers the input of all Hamlin residents vital to its success and extends an open invitation to citizens to attend its scheduled meetings and to provide input and expertise, the contacts stated. The next general meeting will be held on January 28 at 7 p.m. at the Hamlin Town Hall.
Sub-committees have already been formed in the following areas: researching potential locations, developing architectural designs and plans, cost analysis, researching funding sources, and communications and publications. The committees welcome additional members and input from Hamlin residents.
