High school students design, paint mural for local business
High School Art students from Holley recently designed a wall-sized mural that will be painted at Clarendon Cheesecakes, Saturday, January 17, with help from their teacher, Brandi Zavitz. Community involvement is a large part of Clarendon Cheesecakes' winning recipe. Clarendon Cheesecakes owner, Debbie Patt, is excited to have the students come, and enjoyed looking through all their unique designs. The students in Mrs. Zavitz's class each came up with a different design to fit "Clarendon Cheesecakes." Patt and Zavitz then helped blend several designs together to form one final piece. "Choosing just one from so many excellent designs was a tough job," Patt said. "We are thrilled to be working with such talented students."
The students will arrive on Saturday, January 17 at 10 a.m. to begin painting on an inside wall in the new Clarendon Cheesecakes facility in the Holley Industrial Park. Patt will be providing plenty of cheesecake and drinks for the students during their enjoyable day. All are encouraged to come see the mural and the new facility, and stay for some cheesecake of their own.
Clarendon Cheesecakes enjoys supporting local groups in different ways, and Patt sees this as a great opportunity. Groups supported through fundraisers thus far include The Epilepsy Foundation, Have a Heart Foundation, the Bergen Triangle Club, and various schools, churches, and scouting troops. Clarendon Cheesecakes will be participating in The Epilepsy Foundation's "Chocolate Ball" on February 7, and in WHAM's "Oscar Party" to benefit the Have a Heart Foundation, as well as hosting the Third Annual Cheesecake Eating Contest to benefit The Epilepsy Foundation.
