Area singers join voices for Boston concert
Six singers who are members of the Amadeus Chorale have been selected to sing in the American Choral Directors Association All-Eastern Conference in February 2004. The conference is held in Boston from February 12 through 14. These girls were chosen from hundreds of applicants throughout the northeast.
Amadeus Chorale Director Darla Bair prepared audition tapes with the girls during the spring of 2003. "Auditioning is a wonderful learning process, whether or not the singer is accepted. Working the music until the tape is the best it can be takes a great deal of focus on the part of these young singers," Bair stated in a press release.
Sara Scott, a junior at Brockport High School, will sing with the High School Honor Choir, with 150 other singers from high schools in the eleven northeastern states that comprise the Northeast District. Sarah Iuli, a Brighton sixth-grader, Shelby Lind and Bridget Macaluso, eighth graders from Brockport, Rebecca Mosher, a freshman at Byron-Bergen High School and Kathryn Rebholz, a sixth-grader from Rochester's School of the Arts will participate in the Children's Honor Choir during the same conference. All have been members of the Amadeus Chorale for several years.
