Katie Jackson of Village Trail, Spencerport, received an associate degree in administrative assistance at Bryant & Stratton.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Barb Jackson and a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Ryan Weidel, a freshman at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester. His major is Missions. He is a 2003 graduate of Hilton Central High School and the son of Diane Weidel of Hilton and Roger and Anna Weidel of Parma.


Tiffany Kwiatkowski, daughter of Mark and Bette Kwiatkowski, of Emerald Point, Chili, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Kwiatkowski, a senior, is a psychology major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


William Weiner of Hilton was named to the fall dean's list at Johnson and Wales University. He is majoring in computerized drafting.


Christine McGovern, daughter of Michael and Jayne McGovern has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College.

McGovern, a junior, is a psychology major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade point average for the semester.


Joshua Poole, of Church Road, Hilton, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio.


Meredith Keymel of Greece was named to the dean's list at SUNY Cortland for the first semester of the 2003-04 academic year.


The following students at Roberts Wesleyan College were named to the dean's list for their outstanding academic performance last semester. Recognitions were awarded according to established criteria: honors, grade point average ranging from 3.30 to 3.59; high honors, grade point average ranging from 3.60 to 3.84; highest honors, grade point average ranging from 3.85 to 4.0.

Heather Weins, of Dunbar Road, Hilton, has been named to the dean's list for the first quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A second-year student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology, Weins is studying packaging science.

The daughter of Robert and Nancy Weins, she is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School.


Candice Rockell, daughter of Jim and Lee Rockell, Dean Road, Spencerport, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College, achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

Rockell, a sophomore, is a mathematics major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade point average for the semester.


Samantha Hanrahan, of Hilton, student at Roberts Wesleyan College since 2002, has been named to the dean's list for the third consecutive semester. Hanrahan is studying elementary education with an emphasis in math and science.

She is the daughter of Mike and Renate Hanrahan, and a graduate of Golden Heights Christian Academy.


Meghan Hawley, a member of the Class of 2006 at Wells College in Aurora, NY, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2003 semester. She is the daughter of Deborah Hawley and step-daughter of Craig Koslowski of Rochester, and the daughter of Michael Hawley and step-daughter of Linda Hawley of Eugene, Oregon.


Karen A. Young, daughter of Mary and Ronald Young of Spencerport, and a graduate of Nazareth Academy in Rochester, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Niagara University in Lewiston, Niagara County.


Charlene Husser, daughter of Bill and Marie Husser, has been named to the fall 2003 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Husser, a senior, is an elementary/special education major.

Tom Hetherington has been awarded the New York state medal for Merit and Distinguished Service Star for service to the United States during four and one-half years of active duty with the U.S. Navy, including two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Hetherington received a number of medals including the Vietnam Service medal (four awards), Republic of Vietnam service medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon (Korea), and Good Conduct medal. In between the two Vietnam tours, Hetherington also participated as a member of the primary recovery vessel, USS Hornet, in the Apollo 11 and 12 recoveries. He also served two years with the Navy Reserves on Paul Road and one year with the National Guard 209th Artillery.

Hetherington lives on Drake Road with his wife, Maureen, and stepchildren, Jennifer, Victoria, and Robert Huether.


Marine Corps Pvt. Angelo Caruso, son of Diane M. Caruso of Hilton, completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.

Caruso is a 2003 graduate of Hilton High School.


Petty Officer Third Class Daniel Anderson graduated from Nuclear Naval Power Training Command (NNPTC) in October 2003 in Charleston, South Carolina. EM 3 Anderson joined the Navy in July 2002, upon graduation from Byron-Bergen Central School. He is currently stationed in Balston Spa, New York, where he continues his training in Nuclear Naval Prototype School.

He is scheduled to complete his training in the spring 2004 and will then serve aboard a nuclear powered ship or submarine. He will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the electrical systems of the nuclear reactor powering the ship.

EM3 Anderson is the son of Mark and Cindy Anderson of Bergen. His brother, O/C Aaron M. Anderson, also serves in the U.S. Navy and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.


Officer candidate Aaron M. Anderson graduated from the Seaman-To-Admiral Twenty-One Naval Science Institute Program (STA-21 NSI) on November 25, 2003, in Newport, RI. The NSI program is a rigorous academic and military requirement before entering the Naval Reserve Officers Training (NROTC).

Anderson joined the Navy in 1998 upon graduation from Byron-Bergen Central School. He has served on board the USS Nassau for the past three years as chief flight deck electrician, completing a ten month tour of duty in the Persian Gulf in May of 2003. Anderson has been awarded two Navy Achievement Medals and various other awards for his contributions while serving aboard the USS Nassau.

He is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia where he is continuing his pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon completion of his baccalaureate degree, he will be commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He is married to the former Brenda Tipping and is the son of Mark and Cindy Anderson of Bergen.


Army Pvt. Kurt T. Kremmin has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Kremmin is the son of Pamela D. Kremmin of Spencerport and a 2002 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Army Cpl. Peter B. Interisano has a deployed to Iraq to support the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Interisano is a heavy construction equipment operator normally assigned to 864th Engineer Battalion, Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. He has eight years of military service. He is the son of Nina Interisano of Adams Street, Brockport.


Army Spec. Trevor H. Sears has deployed to Iraq to support the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sears is a motor transport operator normally assigned to 642nd Engineer Company, Fort Drum, Watertown. He has three years of military service.

He is the son of Howard I. and Cindy A. Sears of Hamlin. The specialist graduated in 1997 from Hilton High School and received an associate degree in 1999 from SUNY Brockport.


Air Force Airman Scott A. Garbutt has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Rick Garbutt of Manitou Road, and Deborah Garbutt of Short Hills Drive, Hilton.

Garbutt is a 2001 graduate of Hilton High School.


Paul Crowell, Associate Broker of Re/Max First, was once again awarded recognition by the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors (GRAR), and was presented the Sales Master Award for 2003 at GRAR's annual award luncheon held in November at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This honor is given to agents who have 35 or more closed transactions and/or achieve a production level of $4 million or more during a 12 month period.

Paul Crowell works with David Wohlers of Wohlers Development Corporation of Spencerport.

He is active in the local community and a member of the Board of Reference and secretary of the Board of Trustees of Roberts Wesleyan College. He resides in Spencerport with his wife, Elaine.


Elaine Crowell, sales agent with Re/Max First, was again awarded recognition by the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors (GRAR) and presented the Sales Master Award at their awards luncheon held in November at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Elaine Crowell has 30 years experience in residential sales including new builds with Jim Glidden, Inc. in Clarkson. She is active in the community with area youth organizations; she is a committee member of Gates Chili Federal Credit Union; and a member of the Board of Reference at Roberts Wesleyan College and the Council of Leaders of Roberts Wesleyan College.

She resides in Spencerport with her husband, Paul.
