Blue Devils ice Fairport
Defending state champion Brockport received points from ten different players and improved their record to 6-1 in divisional play with a 4-1 victory over Fairport at SUNY Brockport.
Senior Kyle Foelsch scored the first goal of his career to break up a scoreless tie at 8:05 of the first period with assists from Nick Baron and Jason Hage. Fairport evened the game at 1-1 with a power play goal early in the second period before the Blue Devils scored three goals over the ensuing four minutes to take control.
Brandon Dries found the net with a power goal off a scramble in front to put Brockport back on top. Nick Berlin and Matt Popen picked up assists on the play. Just two minutes later, Spencer Trafton rifled a wrist shot into the top right corner of the net with an assist from Jeff Prohaska for a 3-1 lead.
Eric McJury made it 4-1 just eight seconds before the end of the second period when he shot through the goalie's legs after a pass from Kyle Filipowicz to finish the scoring.
Dan Cavanaugh stopped 26 of 27 shots in net for the Blue Devils.
