Cummings leads Bees to hoops win
Stephanie Cummings scored 12 points and Alyssa D'Errico added 10 as Byron-Bergen easily defeated Wheatland-Chili 39-24 in girl's basketball.
The Bees didn't allow W-C to score for the first five minutes of the game while building an 8-2 lead after the first quarter. Cummings scored four of her points in the second quarter and Amanda Krol netted four of her five points for the game as the Bees led 18-7 at halftime.
Jenny Maid scored four of the Bees' six points in the third quarter and B-B used their pressure defense to outscore the Wildcats 15-9 in the final stanza to put the game out of reach.
Rachel Smith scored all but two of her six points in the fourth quarter for Byron-Bergen who improved to 7-2, 5-1. The teams shot only 10 foul shots combined for the entire game.
