Dinner/Theater fundraiser benefits scholarship fund

Greece Community Partners is sponsoring a Dinner/Theater on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 to raise money for the Greece Community Scholarship Fund. The fund annually awards scholarships to high school seniors who are continuing their education. These awards of $500 are given directly to the students to help with their first year expenses, books, supplies and similar needs. Scholarships are awarded to students who live in Greece, and attend a school in Spencerport, Hilton or the Greece Central School District.

Dinner at Golden Ponds, 500 Long Pond Road, Greece offers a choice of London Broil or Chicken French for $22, with $5 from each dinner donated to the scholarship fund. The Greece Paint Players will perform "Don't Mention My Name," a comedy by Fred Carmichael.

The fund was started in 2000 with the Rochester Area Community Foundation with a $12,500 endowment from profits of the Greece Summer Festival. Additional funds have been contributed by local non-profits and individuals.
