Gates Lions and Lions Club International
celebrate Liberty Day USA

March 16, the birthday of James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, has been recognized as Liberty Day by Lions Clubs around the country. This is a year long program within Lions Clubs International with special emphasis on March 16. Teachers, parents and students in the Gates area are invited to contact the Gates Lions Club chairperson Lion Edie (529-5204) to obtain special Liberty Day booklets that provide the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. Booklets are available at no charge. Last year over 1,000 were distributed in the Gates area alone.

Anyone who does not live in the Gates area and who would like to receive the booklets, can contact the Lions Club president in their area for information.
